Access: Open manways and remove insulation if necessary.
Cleaning: Clean the tubes using wire brushes or chemical cleaners to remove debris and scale.
3. Cutting and Preparation
Cutting: Mark and cut out the damaged sections of the tubes.
Preparation: Cut and bevel the new tube sections to fit precisely with the existing tubes.
4. Welding
Alignment: Align the new tube sections using clamps.
Preheating: Preheat if necessary to avoid thermal shock.
Welding: Use GTAW (TIG) or SMAW (Stick) welding to attach the new tubes, ensuring high-quality welds free from defects.
5. Post-Weld Procedures
Inspection: Check the welds using visual inspection, dye penetrant, or radiographic testing.
Hydrostatic Testing: Test the boiler for leaks under pressure.
Documentation: Record the repairs and inspection results.
6. Final Step
Reassembly: Reassemble components and replace insulation.
System Restoration: Refill the boiler, reconnect the fuel supply, and gradually bring the boiler online.
Testing: Conduct operational tests to ensure proper function and safety.
